This is the last post for 2019 – if I wanted to dramatic, I could also say the last post of 2010s. The decade comes to an end. Usually this would be a time for reflection, but I have been reflecting quite a bit over the last months that I am actually tired of looking back. I am eager to see what the 2020s bring about.
I wish you all an amazing and happy New Year!
I leave you with a picture of one of most charming places I visited in 2019 – Besalu with it’s iconic bridge and fortifications. It was a hot summer day – my dear mother, despite her age, walked up the fort with me. Slowly, but we got there… I would walk ahead taking pictures, while my mother caught up and took a brief rest. All that strenuous work was capped off by a chilled beer in one of the taverns in the main square. If you are travelling through Catalan countryside, do take the time to visit this gem.
Here’s to more voyages… and to new destinations.
