Weekly Photo Challenge: Achievement

Given the theme for the challenge this week, I thought first about my recent participation in the Frankfurt Marathon. But truly speaking, nothing gives me more a sense of achievement than travelling and seeing the world. To experience the timeless beauty, the wild sights of Nature and the world around us.

The last most impressive sight I saw was the Grand Canyon – one of the most enduring works of Time and Nature. Standing there on the rim, looking at the sky and land meet in the distance, it felt so vast, so timeless. Just viewing the Grand Canyon is not an achievement in itself – but being on the road, just being in midst of this journey of discovery seems to give me a sense of satisfaction greater than any achievement. I could not have felt more thankful, more blessed to have this opportunity.

So, as long as the road beckons… as long as the journey goes on… my sense of achievement remains intact. And I pray it does so for a long, long time to come.
