Heritage is not something frozen in time…it evolves. It partially your identity, your roots. Partially it is your upbringing. But after that heritage is just the choices you make for the future. 

When we think of heritage, we most often think of the past and forget that the choices we make today will be the heritage of our future generations. Therefore, heritage should not make us just look back at our past (preserving some of that is important too), but it should not be the reason to live in the past. It should be reason to make the right choices today for the future.
