The Amer Fort in the Aravalli hills near Jaipur was built by Raja Mansingh I. The royal ladies would witness the victory parades and other festivities from behind these latticed windows of the Suhag Mandir. Beautifully crafted as they are, given the world we live in today, they still remind me of a quote…
“We are all prisoners but some of us are in cells with windows and some without.”
