Last month, I visited the Herzogstand in the Bavarian Alps. Seemed a perfect summer day with warm sunshine and I forgot how quickly the weather changes here in the mountains. Despite the overcast skies and rain, the experience was as meaningful as ever. I am myself surprised at the choice of my words here, but it is not unusual how some such experiences are representative of how our life unfolds.

As clouds continued to gather, you could see the rain in the distance and the small valley in the foreground lit up by last bit of sunshine. (May 2018)
First view from the top of Herzogstand – just 20 minutes back, it was all sunshine and now the clouds look threatening (May 2018)
The Walchensee lake below had this almost teal blue color that seemed so surreal on a day like this. (May 2018)

Another view of the Walchensee lake with the peaks in the background. (May 2018)
As the rain and hail fell, most of the guests went inside while this lady calmly opened her umbrella and carried on. If you ever needed a picture for the “Keep calm and carry on” message – I named her Serenity (May 2018)
After the descent, the skies started clearing out again – Murphy’s law, I suppose. A last look before heading back to Munich (May 2018)
