After Madurodam, we headed to Leiden to visit the botanical gardens (hortus botanicus). I thought, my Mum would enjoy the visit. 10 minutes in to the walk around the gardens and the golden comment from my Mum, “They have not maintained it properly and there’s nothing interesting”. So, I let my Mum sit on the bench in the garden while I walked around taking pictures… So much for a thoughtful decision.
